A few months ago I mentioned that I’m going to Seattle for my boyfriend’s cousin’s wedding in August and it got me thinking about engagement rings. Picking out an engagement ring is an exciting occasion but there can be a lot of pressure to pick out the perfect ring. The key to picking out the perfect ring is to take it one detail at a time. Just out of curiosity I wanted to design my own dream engagement ring and I stumbled upon the jewelry website, Anjolee. Anjolee is a jewelry website focused on high quality custom designed jewelry. You can customize necklaces and pendants, bracelets, earrings, and wedding and anniversary rings. Since I wanted to customize my dream engagement ring I just focused on wedding and anniversary section. I have always loved solitaire engagement rings so it was easy for me to narrow down the ring styles. There are various choices for solitaire rings but the ring I really liked was the Six Prong Solitaire Ring. After picking out the Six Prong Solitaire Ring came the fun part, customizing the ring.
The first part of the customization is the metal type. I typically like gold when it comes to jewelry but for rings I prefer white gold. When selecting the metal you also have to select how many karats you would like. I don’t know too much about karats so thankfully Anjolee has page on information about what the amount of karats mean. The closer the number of karats get to 24 the purer the gold is. Since this is my dream ring I went ahead and selected the 18k white gold as my metal. The next step is to choose the total carat weight. I’m not sure what the carat weight is so Anjolee also has a page explaining carat weight. Carat weight is the weight of the diamond, so the higher the carat weight the larger the diamond is. I selected a 1.50 ct. as my carat weight. The next step is to pick the diamond quality. I selected the best diamond quality in terms of color and clarity. Diamonds can range from having a noticeable color (which Anjolee does not carry) to slight color to nearly clear. The clearer a diamond is, the higher quality it is. The clarity of a diamond refers to the amount of blemishes on the diamond, the less blemish the clearer the diamond. The last step is to pick the size of the ring. If you do not know your ring size you can print out directions from the Anjolee website on how to find your size. Other options for your ring are to add an engraving on the ring or create a replica of the ring made of silver and cubic zirconium.
